Temple Water

A boat slowly enters this animated painting, carrying a mother and child, an avatar for myself and my child. I keep thinking of the feminist potential of NFTs because of their capacity to be created in the small gaps in the day when mothering, unable to reach my painting studio. The boat carries its passengers through a landscape revealed and obscured by trees, water and light, shaped by in my mind by dissolving empires. The marks, space and colours shift on the digital canvas similar to my process when making an oil painting, leading to imagery and forms both abstracted and recognised.
